A recent study found that eating pears every day is extremely beneficial for losing and maintaining a healthy weight. People who eat pears regularly are 35% less likely to be obese and have a higher quality of life.

Pears are an excellent source of fiber and vitamin C. One medium pear contains 24% of a person's daily fiber needs and only 100 calories. Pears are also fat, cholesterol, and sodium-free, and contain 190 mg of potassium.

Louisiana State University researchers looked at data from 2001 to 2010, using nationally representative samples to assess the association between fresh pear consumption and nutrient intake, nutritional adequacy, diet quality, and cardiovascular disease risk in adults.

As a result, people who regularly ate pears had a higher rate of weight loss, and high fiber consumption was the main reason. Although the energy intake and physical activity of pear eaters and non-pears were similar, the results of pear eaters were still more positive.

Pears are rich in fiber, vitamin C, magnesium, copper, and zinc, which can help reduce sugar cravings. People who eat pears also reduce their intake of monounsaturated and saturated fatty acids.
