Murray, Berdych, Sharapova into second round of Roland Garros
There have been no major surprises for the top seeded players on the second day of the 2015 Roland Garros tennis tournament.
Andy Murray opens this year's tournament with a match against Facundo Arguello, who had his second career match at a Grand Slam tournament. With a different level, the world number threenot too difficult toclosed the match after three sets.
In the first set, Murray took an early 3-0 lead and successfully saved a break-point. But Arguello's struggle caused the set to last 44 minutes before Murray closed it out with a 6-3 victory. The remaining two sets were no better for the Argentine, who continued to be defeated with scores of 3-6 and 1-6. In the end, Andy Murray defeated Arguello 3-0 (6-3, 6-3 and 6-1).
"In the first set, I didn't have a good feeling, it seemed like something was very difficult. Entering the match in windy conditions and the air was a bit cold, so I started quite slowly. When the wind calmed down a bit in the next two sets, I returned to my playing style," Murray shared.

With this victory, Andy Murray increased his number of wins in 2015 to 32. The British tennis player hopes to improve his achievements in 2011 and 2014 when he reached the semi-finals of Roland Garros.
Fourth seedTomas BerdychBerdych also had a perfect start with a 6-0, 7-5, 6-3 victory against Yoshihito Nishioka. Against the Japanese player who was looking for his first victory on clay at the Grand Slam, Berdych easily defeated him, without giving his opponent a chance to win even a single game in just 27 minutes of the first set.
Nishioka came out strong in the second set, taking Berdych to the 12th game, but under pressure from the fourth seed, the Japanese player's backhands were all ineffective. The second set ended 7-5 in Berdych's favor. A break point was enough for Tomas Berdych to cruise to victory in the third set, ending the opening match with a convincing victory.

In this match, Berdych achieved 82% first serve success rate, bringing his number of wins on clay this year to 10. He will face Radek Stepanek in the second round.
The surprise in the men's category yesterday was that the 11th seedFeliciano Lopezsaid goodbye to the tournament early. The person who defeated him was the world No. 74 player Teymuraz Gabashvili from Russia. The scores of the sets in this match were 6-3, 7-6 and 6-3 respectively.
In the women's category, Maria Sharapova had to face a tough opponent who has reached the quarter-finals of five Grand Slam tournaments, former world number 15, Kaia Kanepi. However, the defending champion still showed great stability and only needed two sets to decide the match.
The first set ended quickly when Masha broke early in her opponent's first serve game and easily won 6-2. The second set saw Kanepi rise when she leveled the score at 4-4 and then led 30-0 in the next game. But the "Russian Doll"'s class spoke up and brought the match back to order, she won this set with a score of 6-4.
""It's a great opportunity for me to get back on center court. I got a win against a tough opponent and the difficult conditions are a good challenge for me to try to overcome. I will recover when I have a day off tomorrow and then continue my title defense," Sharapova said. The world number two's second-round opponent will be Vitalia Diatchenko, who beat Stefanie Voegele 4-6, 6-3, 6-2 in the first round.

The opening round of the women's event saw an early stumble forVenus WilliamsandAgnieszka Radwanska. Former world number one and number two could not overcome Sloane Stephensand Annika Beck in matches where they were rated much higher. 14th seed Radwanska was defeated by world No. 83 Annika Beck 6-2, 3-6, 6-1. Venus Williams was sent home by her compatriot in just two sets with the scores of 7-6, 6-1.
The third day of Roland Garros will welcome the appearance of Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal, Serena Williams or Petra Kvitova on the center court of Philippe-Chatrier, or David Ferrer, Eugenie Bouchard... on the field in the next round of the first round.
