In a campaign described as the "most drastic" to restore order in cities, on November 30, the Los Angeles Police Department (California) on the West Coast and the Philadelphia Police Department (Pennsylvania) on the East Coast of the United States mobilized thousands of police officers equipped with anti-riot equipment, surrounded and forced "Occupy Wall Street" protesters out of squares and parks in the center of these two cities where they had camped out for more than 2 months.

Nearly 300 protesters have been arrested, bringing the total number of people arrested since the protests began to nearly 2,000.

According to the announcement of the Los Angeles Police Department, from the night of November 29, more than 1,400 police officers and other functional forces, from many directions, simultaneously stormed the square in front of the City Council, herding and arresting more than 200 protesters.

The raid came two days after the deadline set by the city government to firmly disperse protesters and dismantle camps to restore traffic order and public security.

During the raid, police were equipped with shields, batons, dogs, rubber bullets and tear gas. Meanwhile, in Philadelphia, a large police force was mobilized at 1:30 a.m. on November 30 to "clear" the park in front of City Hall that had been occupied by protesters for more than two months.

The "Occupy Wall Street" protest broke out on September 17 at Zuccotti Park near the financial center of "Wall Street" and over the past two months has grown into a movement, spreading across major cities in the US and many cities around the world.

The protesters' goal is to protest against unfair policies and laws that only benefit a wealthy minority, leading to mounting debt while American workers have to pay higher taxes to pay off the debt.
