US prevents EU from getting closer to Russia
The US is preventing the EU from re-establishing relations with Russia, using Ukraine and Türkiye as tools to counter it, said the author of numerous books, articles and research papers in the field of international relations and geopolitics Alexander Del Val.

"I think that the US is not interested in a strong Europe moving closer to Russia. Therefore, Ukraine (the conflict in the east of the country), as well as the issue of Türkiye's integration into Europe, are a means to divide Europe, to prevent Europe from speaking with one voice and moving closer to Russia," Alexander Del Val told Sputnik.
According to analysts, the US pursues "the goal of destabilizing Europe, which is a weak geopolitical player."
