According to NHK, in a statement on April 2, the CDC confirmed that the center has begun taking steps toward vaccine development, such as researching the genes of this virus strain.

According to the CDC, the situation is still evolving and it is too early to assess the danger of the new virus strain, but the CDC will update information as soon as research results are available.

Meanwhile, a Japanese bird flu expert said China's announcement of four new cases of H7N9 infection shows the situation could be very serious.

According to Mr. Oshitani Hitoshi, a professor at Tohoku University, the patients confirmed to be infected so far are all those with severe symptoms and that the number of infected cases in China could be higher if mild cases are taken into account.

With the number of patients increasing to the current level, we cannot deny the fact that this virus can easily spread to humans. He said that so far the H7N9 strain has not received much attention. However, the rapid increase in the number of infected people shows that the virus has mutated at some point./.
