US conducts full investigation into sailor's death on destroyer
The White House will conduct a full investigation into the death of a sailor aboard the destroyer John McCain.

The US destroyer John McCain has arrived at the port of Singapore. Earlier, in the early morning of August 21, it collided with the merchant ship Alnic MC in the Strait of Malacca. As a result of this incident, 5 sailors were injured and 10 were missing.
"The Department of Defense will conduct a full and comprehensive investigation into this incident," the White House said.
The Trump administration also thanked the Malaysian government for its assistance in the search and rescue operation and expressed condolences to the families and loved ones of the sailors who died.
