"The United States is prepared to support the Iraqi military with additional capabilities to help them complete the mission (to capture Ramadi), including attack helicopters and advisors, if necessary and if requested by Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi," Mr. Carter said.
According to Mr. Carter, the Iraqi army and counter-terrorism units are starting to enter Ramadi from many directions after months of delay.
In addition, Secretary Carter also urged US allies to increase action against IS, and said that Russia should "stand on the right side" in the fight against this rebel group./.
