According to Mirror, at least four people died and 7,000 people were affected after Louisiana suffered a record 24-hour rainfall, with up to 43cm of rain last weekend.

"I've never seen anything like this before. It's worse than Hurricane Katrina," said Anna Johnson, a resident of Denham Springs, near the capital Baton Rouge.

This area was also affected by Hurricane Katrina in 2005 in the US, the storm that caused the largest amount of material damage, estimated at 108 billion USD, and the 5th highest number of deaths, estimated at 1,800 people, in US history.

"My husband is also involved in the rescue. He has a boat and is helping the local police."

She took pictures of coffins that had fallen into a hole in the cemetery and were floating on a flooded street yesterday. Anna also took many pictures of the residential area, roads, schools and houses, all submerged in floodwater.

Louisiana Governor John Bel Edwards called it a "historic disaster" and pledged to mobilize all resources to help people.
