At the US-China summit, the two sides pledged to try to resolve the tense cybersecurity issue.

The US-China summit in California is attracting special attention from world public opinion.

At the talks between US President Obama and Chinese President Xi Jinping, the two sides agreed to build a new model of bilateral relations. China wants that relationship to be a “new type of major power relationship”, but the US only wants to build a “new type of bilateral relationship”. Because in the US’s view, China is just an emerging country, while the US has long been a developed country.

However, during the more than 3-hour meeting, the two sides agreed on many important issues.

Regarding the issue of cyber security, President Obama said that the US and China are two countries with economic and military potential, so it is necessary to find a common voice on this issue.

Responding to President Obama, Chinese President Xi Jinping emphasized: “China pays special attention to this issue. Both the United States and China will study how to solve this problem. China itself is a victim of hackers.”

Previously, the US condemned China as a country that violated US cyberspace.

In a speech at the Shangri-La Dialogue in Singapore on June 1, with the participation of Chinese military officials, US Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel bluntly accused the Chinese government and military of repeatedly infiltrating sensitive US information systems.

“For American companies, it’s an existential threat,” said Patrick Chovanec, a former economics professor at Tsinghua University who now works for Silvercrest Asset Management. “It seems like the Chinese don’t realize how serious this problem has become,” Professor Chovanec added.

British media also reported on June 7 that US President Obama had instructed senior US officials in charge of cyber security to draw up a list of countries that have violated US cyberspace.

This can be considered a tough action by the US to deal with hackers, especially against countries that receive special "care" from the US when the US suspects them of violating US cyberspace./.
