US repairs old airports to contain Russia?
The United States is repairing Soviet-era airfields in Eastern Europe to contain Russia, military expert Yury Knutov said.

According to the expert, the United States recognizes the failures in the combat readiness of European armies and hopes to strengthen the capabilities of combat and transport aviation. To achieve this goal, the Pentagon is modernizing airfields near the Russian border. At the same time, the expert notes that this hostile activity of Washington towards Moscow cannot be explained rationally.
"This is an act of strong pressure on our country. The American program looks completely inappropriate for the current military-political situation. The Russian invasion of one of the countries of the alliance is nonsense and fantasy, for which there is no reasonable explanation even in the West. But for this reason, NATO troops are approaching the borders of the Russian Federation," Knutov said.
The interlocutor is sure that the United States is provoking a new arms race, which does not coincide with Russia's plans. However, Moscow can adequately respond to Washington in terms of strengthening aviation infrastructure in Europe.
