My Tam satisfies the 'thirst' of fans in Hanoi

"Brown-haired Nightingale" ignited the emotions of 25,000 audiences in the music night on November 23 with performances that brought everything from passionate happiness to youthful enthusiasm.

The "Heartbeat" live show on the evening of November 23 in Hanoi started at 8pm, but hundreds of fans were present from 2pm to wait for the female singer's appearance.

My Tam shared that there is something very special about Hanoi for her. At the age of 15, she went to the capital for the first time. At that time, the singer still did not think that she had any connection with this land. When she graduated from the Conservatory of Music, Vocal Department of the Ho Chi Minh City Conservatory of Music in 2001, My Tam had many opportunities to return to the capital to perform. "Every time I go to Hanoi, I receive a lot of affection from the audience. I remember reading an article that My Tam was surrounded and loved by everyone not only because of her songs and singing voice but also because of her empathy in music. Throughout a long career, not every artist has that. And I feel touched by what I have been given," the "brown-haired nightingale" confided.

Not good at speaking, not an excellent dancer, but My Tam has the "glue" that helps her create a strong bond with many generations of audiences. That is her voice and the enthusiasm of youth.

Continuously dancing and singing for three and a half hours, receiving only help from the band, dancers and backing group, My Tam never showed signs of fatigue. She said the long performance time and the emotion of the audience made her think she was about to lose her voice or that her song was stuck in her throat. However, at no time was My Tam's voice drowned out by the background music coming from the large speaker system. She always maintained a strong breath, a thick, strong voice and a well-rounded song processing technique.

On stage, the female singer takes every opportunity to joke, dance, and act "crazy" like her true self. Her way of speaking is not too polished but natural and comfortable, which makes her create sympathy for many young audiences. Perhaps that is why every song she plays is sung along with excitement by fans, especially the two hits "Chuyen nhu chua bat dau" (The Story Hasn't Started) and "Co gai den tu hom qua" (The Girl from Yesterday).

The reason why My Tam's voice has remained attractive to many generations of audiences over the past 10 years is because she knows how to choose songs that help all hearts beat together. Besides the love songs that are very modern, the "brown-haired nightingale" also sings about trust, youthful enthusiasm, friendship and love for the homeland that has been passed down through many generations of Vietnamese.

The songs Len Dang and Bien Hat Chieu Nay were sung with great enthusiasm. The new and vibrant arrangement helped the songs that have endured through the years have a new look suitable for modern times but still retain the national spirit of the original. Many older audiences sat and stomped their feet, nodding their heads while singing along. Meanwhile, the hits Cay dan sinh vien and Niem tin chien thang were warmly received by young fans. At the age of "23" (as My Tam said), she made each audience see her reflection in each song, sometimes burning with youthful energy with the desire to contribute, sometimes overflowing with emotions and love for what belongs to the homeland.

After performing "The Sea Sings" this afternoon, My Tam also apologized to musician Hong Dang. She confided: "I feel very honored that you personally came to watch me perform today. I am extremely sorry for singing the wrong lyrics to this song on television even though it is one of the songs I have sung the most this year."

The closer to the end of the show, the more My Tam sang. When she received bouquets of flowers from fans in the Central and Southern regions, the female singer could not hold back her tears. Before performing the closing act of the show, she could only sit down on the stage and choke up: "I can't bear to sing the last song because after singing, the show will end. But I just want to stand here and sing forever." Not wanting to say goodbye too soon, she decided to "break the rules" with a series of songs such as "Remember", "Love is foolish", "One time and forever". In response to the singer's affection, most of the fans stayed in their seats and cheered until the last minute.
