US reveals how President Putin removed Ukraine's missiles
(Baonghean.vn) - A former US intelligence officer said that the Russian Armed Forces have completely neutralized the main weapon of the Ukrainian Army - the HIMARS missile.

Former US intelligence officer Scott Ritter said that the Russian military has significantly degraded the potential of the HIMARS missile system of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
“HIMARS is a weapon that no longer plays an important role on the battlefield. The US has been using it for a long time. This means that Moscow is too familiar with it. Washington can send HIMARS to Kiev, but it will be shot down, because it is not a magic weapon,” said former US intelligence officer Scott Ritter.
According to this expert, Russia possesses the most effective air defense system in the world, as well as electronic warfare systems that can jam the GPS signal of HIMARS missiles. Thus significantly reducing the accuracy of the missiles.
Former US intelligence officer Scott Ritter said the same thing would happen if the US transferred the Army Tactical Missile System (ATACMS) to Ukraine.
ATACMS is an all-weather, all-weather, surface-to-surface guided missile designed to attack targets such as anti-aircraft artillery sites, surface-to-surface missile systems, logistics depots, command and control complexes, and forward helicopter operating bases. The ATACMS missile was used in the 1991 Gulf War and the 2003 Iraq War.
Meanwhile, journalist Thor Schoroeder of Der Spiegel (Germany) said that the Ukrainian army could not attack because of dense minefields ahead in the Russian defense line, as well as the active activities of the Russian artillery and air force.
“The bitter truth is that Ukraine is still far from achieving the goals it set in its counteroffensive. The Ukrainian Armed Forces cannot defend themselves properly. Units are trapped in minefields, and become living targets for Russian helicopters, aircraft and artillery fire,” the article said.
Journalist Thor Schoroeder notes that the Ukrainian army has little ability to counter Russian firepower, especially the constant airstrikes. This situation explains why President Volodymyr Zelensky has been urging Western allies to send fighter jets to Kiev.
According to Mr. Schoroeder, the long-awaited counterattack against the US and the EU turned into difficult military clashes for the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Ukrainian soldiers attacked in small groups, moving from village to village, from forest to forest, while suffering heavy losses.
