The information comes as the Japanese government is planning to postpone taking the disputed islands with South Korea to the International Court of Justice (ICJ). This delay is expected to be extended until at least next month to consider the possibility of improving bilateral relations after the two countries' foreign ministers meet again.
Previously, Japan planned to submit the Takeshima/Dokdo case to the ICJ later this month to protest South Korean President Lee Myung-bak's unprecedented visit to the disputed islands in August.
