The NLD won a landslide victory in the November 2015 election.
“The peace process is the first thing the new government will do. We will try to achieve all the ceasefire agreements. We cannot do anything without peace in our country,” Suu Kyi said in a speech marking Myanmar’s 68th Independence Day at the NLD headquarters in Yangon.
According to the constitution drafted by the Myanmar military, Ms. Suu Kyi is still banned from running for president./.
