Nadal, Djokovic, Sharapova easily advance at Roland Garros
There were no big surprises on the second day of Roland Garros as the big names all advanced.
In the men's singles, defending champion Rafael Nadal did not need much effort to defeat American player Robby Ginepri after 3 sets with the scores 6-0, 6-3, 6-0.
Similar to Nadal, Djokovic also easily defeated Portugal's Joao Sousa with a score of 3-0. The scores of each set were 6-1, 6-2, 6-4.
Meanwhile, the biggest surprise yesterday in the men's singles was that the 9th seed Kei Nishikori stopped in the first round after being defeated by Slovakian player Martin Klizan in 3 sets (7-6(7-4), 6-1, 6-1). The back injury still tormented Nishikori, making him not in the best physical condition and unable to serve normally. That was the reason for the Japanese player's defeat.
