At the Information Security Day 2012 organized by the Southern Information Security Association (VNISA) in Ho Chi Minh City on November 16, many network security experts shared the same assessment of the information security situation in the world and in Vietnam last year. There were not many outstanding events, but intrusion attacks and profiteering behaviors through the use of high technology and the Internet were still common.
Mr. Trinh Ngoc Minh - Vice President of the Southern Information Security Association commented that the silence of the security world in the past year easily makes people mistaken, in fact it is a scary silence. The risk of information security incidents with increasingly large influence and damage, even making people think of a cyber war is becoming clearer than ever.
Vietnam, with its low investment in information security, will be at risk of many risks. In particular, in 2012, not only the websites of businesses and the Government, but also the websites of leading Vietnamese security companies were attacked.
This year, the number of computers infected with malware also shows no signs of decreasing (18.1/1000 computers), these are "bombs" in the information system that cannot be eliminated.
According to Mr. Minh, to ensure information security, we cannot wait until an incident occurs to find a solution, but must prepare the system thoroughly.
To solve the problem of information security in Vietnam, Mr. Ngo Viet Khoi - Sales Director of Trend Micro Vietnam said that in addition to raising awareness for businesses, it is necessary to prepare a professional human resource in this field. In addition, step by step research and development of protection tools completely owned by Vietnam itself. Agencies and businesses should think about multi-layered defense solutions and invest in superior domestic technology./.
