In 2013, more than 900 cases were granted Vietnamese nationality.
That is the figure given by Mr. Tran Tien Dung, Chief of the Office of the Ministry of Justice, at a press conference on the morning of December 31. According to Mr. Dung, in 2013, the work of processing the granting, re-granting, and renunciation of Vietnamese nationality was shortened compared to before to ensure the legitimate rights and interests of citizens.
During the year, the Ministry of Justice submitted to the President for signature decisions granting Vietnamese nationality to 902 cases, including 889 cases of stateless people who have been residing stably in Vietnam for 20 years or more (as of July 1, 2009).

In addition, 360 adoption cases involving foreign elements have been resolved (an increase of about 55.8% compared to 2012), focusing on resolving 188 cases of children with special care needs. In addition, the whole country has also resolved 2,880 domestic adoption cases; 63 provinces and cities have registered births and re-registered births for more than 2,018,800 cases (an increase of 12.2% compared to 2012); registered marriages for 839,860 couples (an increase of 9.2% compared to 2012), of which nearly 12,580 cases of marriages involving foreign elements were registered (an increase of 3% compared to 2012).
In 2013, ministries and branches actively implemented administrative procedure simplification, aiming to gradually amend and supplement administrative procedures (TTHC) according to the plan approved by the Government in 25 thematic resolutions in 2010. This is a key content in the reform of administrative procedures during the year. By the end of November 2013, ministries and branches had completed the simplification of 3,921 administrative procedures out of a total of 4,751 administrative procedures approved by the Government for simplification. Ministries and branches achieved a 100% completion rate in implementing the simplification plan: Ministry of Transport; Ministry of Foreign Affairs; Ministry of Justice; Government Inspectorate. Some ministries and branches achieved a high completion rate, including: Ministry of Home Affairs (98%); Ministry of Science and Technology (96%); Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (94%); Ministry of Construction (93%); Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Health (92%).
