PV:In 2016, Quy Chau district was assessed to have achieved many comprehensive achievements. Could you please tell us some outstanding results?

Comrade Ngo Duc Thuan:In 2016, despite facing many difficulties and challenges, with the attention of the Central Government, the province, the dynamism in the direction of the district leaders and the efforts of the entire population, Quy Chau still developed stably in socio-economics. Total production value at fixed prices in 2010 (calculated at basic prices): reached 2,078,603 million VND. Growth rate in 2016 is estimated at 8.7%. Average income reached 17.6 million VND/person/year. Total value of the agricultural sector in 2016 was 515,067 million VND. Total cultivated area was 8,050 hectares. Total grain output reached 21,122.4 tons. Regarding agricultural extension, 9 models were built with a total implementation cost of 782.6 million VND.

Continuing to promote the implementation of the National Target Program on New Rural Construction in 11 communes, the Provincial People's Committee approved the list of investment projects from the Government's capital source for New Rural Construction in 2016. Up to now, 4/11 communes have achieved 10 or more New Rural criteria, with Chau Tien model commune achieving 16/19 criteria. Lau 2 village, Chau Binh commune achieved 13/15 criteria, Minh Tien village, Chau Tien commune achieved 14/15 criteria. Maintain and develop production activities of craft villages and craft villages in the area.

The value of industrial production - handicrafts is estimated at 170,728 million VND. The total value of construction investment in the area is estimated at 445,247 million VND. Appraisal and investment decision for 42 projects, continuing to implement investment preparation steps for 14 projects. Received settlement documents for 14 projects; examined and approved the settlement of 10 projects with a total estimate of 7,478.9 million VND, proposed settlement value of 7,304.8 million VND, approved settlement value of 7,189.6 million VND. Completed investment in traffic infrastructure outside the industrial cluster; completed investment in construction of the town market and put the town market, Chau Tien commune market, Chau Binh commune market into operation.

Education management continues to be innovated, the quality of comprehensive education is increasingly improved. The quality of medical examination and treatment, disease prevention and control is gradually improved. Propaganda on food safety and hygiene, disease prevention and control is focused on, investment in medical infrastructure is focused on, the progress of building communes that meet the National Health Criteria is promoted; Communication work on population/family planning is widely implemented, the birth rate and natural population growth rate decrease compared to the same period.

Comrade Ngo Duc Thuan:In 2017, Quy Chau district focused on implementing well the support, investment and development policies of the Central and the province and reviewing and supplementing the district's policies and mechanisms in accordance with the local development situation. Encourage investment in developing key areas such as: raw material crops, industrial crops, concentrated large-scale livestock farms... Build key economic models and replicate effective economic models.

Promote the application of scientific and technological advances in production to improve productivity and quality of crops and livestock; strive to increase value per unit area, linking production with product consumption markets.
