(Baonghean.vn) - Despite many financial difficulties, in 2018, the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Nghe An will still spend 14 billion VND to solidify 4 km of the current level 1 canal made of soil in Nghi Loc district.
Nghi Loc district currently has 8 large reservoirs with a total capacity of nearly 20 million m3, 5 pumping stations with a total capacity of 180,000 m3/h, there are more than 54 km of main canals and level 1 canals managed, exploited and protected by Nam Irrigation Company.
Of the more than 54 km of main canals and level 1 canals, there are currently 12.95 km of earthen canals and 28.81 km of canals built long ago with bricks and stones that have seriously degraded over many years, causing water loss and waste and making it difficult to get water for production.
This issue has been proposed by Nghi Loc district voters at many voter meetings but has not yet been invested in for new construction, repair, or upgrading.
