In 2019, 6 provinces of Military Region 4 selected and called up 11,200 young men for military service.

On November 15, the Military Region 4 Command held a conference to review experience in military recruitment in 2019 and deploy military recruitment in 2020.

Lieutenant General Nguyen Doan Anh - Commander of the Military Region chaired the conference; Comrade Le Hong Vinh - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of Nghe An Provincial People's Committee attended and delivered a speech.

Attending the conference were comrades in the Standing Committee of the Party Committee, the Military Region 4 Command; representatives of the Military Department - General Staff; leaders of the Provincial People's Committee, the Departments of Health, Education and Training of 6 provinces in the Military Region; representatives of leaders and commanders of agencies and units under the Military Region; representatives of commanders of military units receiving recruits: Navy; Corps 1; Naval Region 3; General Department of Engineering; Air Defense - Air Force; Information Command.

In 2019, localities and units have thoroughly grasped, led, directed and organized the implementation of military recruitment work, in accordance with the Law on Military Service; Decisions of the Prime Minister and the Ministry of National Defense. With the participation of the entire political system, the work of selecting and calling citizens to join the army was carried out seriously, synchronously, responsibly, closely and uniformly at all levels, so the quality and results achieved were relatively positive.

6 provinces have selected and called 11,200 successful young people, of which over 2,000 are children of ethnic minorities, nearly 600 are university and college graduates. The organization of military transfer and reception is tight and safe. Units organize training for new soldiers according to plan.

To ensure the quality of qualified citizens, the Military Region Command directs units and localities to closely follow Directive 98/2019 of the Ministry of National Defense on "Strengthening measures to improve the quality of selection and calling of citizens to join the army in the new situation".

Strengthen the leadership and direction of Party committees at all levels; thoroughly grasp and resolutely and synchronously deploy measures to effectively carry out military recruitment work according to the targets assigned by the Government, the Ministry of National Defense and the Military Region Command.

Implement well the policy of local military recruitment "rounded"; Strictly implement the motto of recruiting enough quantity, by increasing the selection rate of citizens who have graduated from university, college and citizens with health type 1, type 2 to join the army, ensuring quality in all aspects; recruit people who are sure, minimize compensation and return. Link with the locality to mobilize and create a source of grassroots cadres for the government in remote, isolated, border areas, especially difficult areas.
