(Baonghean.vn) - At 0:10 a.m. on June 26, 2014, at the steel billet workshop of Mr. Nguyen Van Phuc and Mrs. Nguyen Thi Hien in Cau Don hamlet, Van Dien commune, Nam Dan, an explosion occurred, injuring 4 workers.

Immediately after the explosion, district police were present at the scene to investigate and handle the situation, and promptly take the victims to the emergency room.

According to witnesses, during the steel melting process, worker Tran Van Quang controlled the bucket to scoop steel water to pour into the mold, including about 500kg of molten steel water. While controlling the bucket, it touched the furnace wall, the steel water fell into the water tank behind, the sudden hot and cold contact caused an explosion. As a result, the entire roof of the factory, about 500 square meters, collapsed, 5 workers working in the factory were injured, including Mr. Tran Van Thang, born in 1972, residing in Hamlet 8, Nam Thai Commune and Mr. Nguyen Van Ngoc, born in 1972, residing in Hamlet 3, Nam Linh Commune, were injured and severely burned and were transferred to the National Burn Institute in Hanoi for emergency treatment; Mr. Tran Van Quang, born in 1982, residing in Hamlet 4, Nam Nghia Commune and Mr. Tung in Bac Thung Hamlet, Van Dien Commune are currently being treated at Nghe An General Hospital. Mr. Dinh Sy Thanh, born in 1972, residing in hamlet 5, Nam Thai commune, only suffered minor injuries and was taken home.
