Nam Dan promotes tourism potential

Coming to Nam Dan, the first destination that every Vietnamese person longs to go to is Kim Lien - the hometown of President Ho Chi Minh. Coming to Kim Lien, everyone will feel the peaceful atmosphere of the Vietnamese countryside, have the opportunity to learn more about the Father of the nation. Kim Lien Relic Site is one of the especially important relics of the country. Over the years, the Relic Site has received much investment from the State, welcoming millions of domestic and foreign visitors every year. Mr. Nguyen Ba Hoe - Director of Kim Lien Relic Site said: In 2010, the Relic Site has put into operation a number of adjacent relics about Uncle Ho's family, serving the needs of visitors, such as the Lang Sen banyan tree, the old Dien forge - where Uncle Ho often visited when he was young, the house of Mr. Nguyen Sinh Nham - Uncle Ho's grandfather, the Nguyen Sinh family temple, the house of Mr. Vuong Thuc Quy - the place considered to be Uncle Ho's "first school".
Along with Kim Lien relic site, Nam Dan also has many other attractive tourist attractions. The district identifies tourism as a key economic sector, both to preserve the cultural values of a traditional countryside and to generate economic revenue.
To develop tourism, the district pays special attention to developing infrastructure for tourism. With many investment sources from the state and socialized sources, many tourism works and projects have been invested in preservation and restoration, such as Phan Boi Chau Memorial House, King Mai Temple, Le Hong Son Tomb, etc. In which, the project to preserve and restore Kim Lien historical and cultural relic site has completed phase 1 and is continuing to be completed, a number of large relics are being planned for investment, construction, restoration and reconstruction such as Hoanh Son communal house, Vien Quang pagoda, Dai Tue pagoda with capital of hundreds of billions of VND. Currently, the district has 30 ranked relics.
Many important traffic routes such as National Highway 46, National Highway 15A, Lam River tourist road... are increasingly upgraded and expanded, creating favorable conditions for tourists when visiting Uncle Ho's hometown. At the same time, the service infrastructure system is increasingly developed, up to now the whole district has 15 motels, and the tourism infrastructure is increasingly invested in synchronously.
Secretary of Nam Dan District Party Committee - Mr. Tran Dinh Huong said: In addition to investing in infrastructure construction, we also pay great attention to tourism promotion. Every year, the district successfully organizes major festivals such as the Mai King Temple Festival, the Sen Village Festival... The district allocates budget for propaganda and promotion on mass media, participates in exhibitions, fairs, culinary culture festivals, etc. Thereby, introducing cultural heritages and scenic spots of Nam Dan to tourists, contributing to calling for investment in tourism development, planning regions and tourist service points. Thanks to that, the number of visitors to Nam Dan always increases rapidly, a number of investors have come to Nam Dan to seek investment opportunities.
In particular, economic sectors serving tourism development are also increasingly developing in Nam Dan. The structure of crops and livestock has changed positively, many products such as Nam Dan soy sauce, kudzu, Nam Anh persimmon, and Nam Nam lemon have become typical products of Nam Dan, favored by tourists inside and outside the province. The farm system has developed rapidly, including farms raising specialties such as baba and frogs to supply restaurants. Besides, there is a system of ecological farms combining aquaculture and fruit tree planting associated with tourism development. Coming to Nam Dan, visitors can hardly forget the dishes that have become famous brands of Nam Dan such as Nam Nghia tamarind meat, Cau Don goat, Lam river mussels, Nam Dan soy sauce, etc.
The district is planning industrial production zones, small-scale handicrafts (TTCN) associated with environmental protection, encouraging the protection of handicraft villages. Currently, investment has been attracted to form industrial clusters, some projects such as Brewery, Water Plant, Textile and Garment have been invested and built, creating the premise for tourism development. TTCN production has many changes, creating many products to serve tourists such as stone carving, casting Uncle Ho statues, handicraft products in Nam Giang, embroidery in Nam Thanh.
