Nam Dan, Quynh Luu: Summary of the movement of farmers competing in good production and business

In recent years, the movement of farmers competing in good business has continued to develop in both breadth and depth, with strong influence in all areas of agricultural production, small-scale industry and services, attracting and encouraging thousands of farming households in Nam Dan district to promote the spirit of hard work and creativity. The whole district honored 7,606 good business households in 2012-2014. The results of the movement of good business and solidarity to help each other to overcome poverty and become rich legitimately have contributed to the development of the local socio-economy and the construction of new rural areas. Thanks to that, the total production value in 2013 reached 4,647.457 billion VND, reaching 96.56% of the plan; the growth rate was 6.43%; the average income per capita reached 23.5 million VND, the poverty rate was 7.36%.

Speaking at the conference, the leaders of the Provincial Farmers' Association acknowledged and commended the results that farmers in Nam Dan district have achieved. At the same time, they noted: Associations at all levels must proactively disseminate to members the policies of the Party, the State, and localities, and mobilize members to exploit the potential strengths of many effective economic models. Proactively promote innovation in support services for farmers, especially the linkage of the four "Farmers, the State, scientists and enterprises" so that farmers have the conditions to exploit the potential of the market; organize a summary of the replication of models, typical advanced models to compete and learn from each other in economic development; link the movement with the consolidation and building of a strong association organization.

On the same day, Quynh Luu district held a conference to summarize the emulation movement of farmers in good production and business in the period 2012 - 2014. Attending the conference was comrade Nguyen Thi Hai - Vice President of the Provincial Farmers' Association.

In the past 2 years, the movement of good production and business has been effectively implemented by the association from district to grassroots levels and achieved outstanding results. Up to now, the whole district of Quynh Luu has nearly 4,000 good production households at all levels, of which 30 households are at the central level, 201 households at the provincial level, 632 households at the district level and nearly 3,200 households at the communal level.

The district association has promoted support services to help farmers such as opening 102 vocational training classes, 341 training classes to transfer science and technology to tens of thousands of people, coordinating with banks to disburse 951 billion VND to nearly 32 thousand members; providing credit to companies to supply farmers with nearly 4,200 tons of various fertilizers on a deferred payment basis; building 33 demonstration models to transform crop and livestock structures, and producing hybrid corn varieties.

In the field of cultivation, there have been many fields producing safe vegetables according to VietGap standards with an average income of 300 - 350 million VND/ha/year. This has created stable jobs for thousands of workers. In the field of livestock, the district has maintained and built 37 effective combined livestock farms. The average income of these farms is 300 - 400 million VND/year. The district has also converted hundreds of hectares of low-efficiency production land into land for aquaculture with an area of ​​nearly 2,300 hectares. The field of developing industry - handicrafts - trade services - salt industry has also achieved many remarkable results.

At the conference, 72 individuals were awarded certificates of merit by the District People's Committee for their outstanding achievements in the emulation movement for good production and business in the period 2012 - 2014. The conference also elected 7 typical individuals to attend the provincial conference in the coming time.
