Nam Dan soon completes the application dossier to request the district to meet new rural standards
(Baonghean.vn) - Comrade Nguyen Minh Tien - Director of the Department of Economic Cooperation and Rural Development requested Nam Dan district to soon add necessary and specific information to the dossier, complete the project to send to the Central Council for New Rural Area Appraisal to recognize the district as a New Rural Area.
On the morning of April 18, the working delegation of the Central Steering Committee for National Target Programs led by Mr. Nguyen Minh Tien - Director of the Department of Economic Cooperation and Rural Development, Chief of the Central Office for New Rural Area Coordination, worked with Nam Dan district on the examination of documents and on-site survey of Nam Dan district to consider recognizing the district as meeting the New Rural Area standards in 2017. Accompanying the delegation, on the provincial side were Mr. Dinh Viet Hong - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and leaders of relevant departments and branches.

Before working with the district, the delegation conducted a field survey in some communes such as Nam Cat, Nam Linh, Nam Anh, Van Dien... In the localities, the delegation visited some cultural houses, schools, new rural roads, and clean vegetable production models in greenhouses.
Reporting to the working group on the achievements in building new rural areas of Nam Dan, comrade Dinh Xuan Que - Chairman of the District People's Committee said: After 7 years of implementing the program, up to now, 23/23 communes have been recognized by the Provincial People's Committee as meeting new rural standards. 9/9 district-level criteria stipulated in Decision No. 558/QD-TTg have also been basically met.

The total budget mobilized for new rural construction in Nam Dan district in the past 7 years is more than 1,530 billion VND, of which: Central budget is more than 107 billion VND; Provincial budget is 145 billion VND; District budget is 160 billion VND; Commune budget is 193.2 billion VND; Enterprise capital is 98.5 billion VND; People's contribution: 346.7 billion VND; Combined capital from programs and projects in the area is 479.8 billion VND.
Up to now, average income per capita has reached 36 million VND/person/year, the poverty rate has decreased to 3.16%.

Based on the opinions of the members of the delegation, comrade Nguyen Minh Tien - Director of the Department of Economic Cooperation and Rural Development requested the People's Committee of Nghe An province to direct Nam Dan district to soon supplement the necessary and specific information to complete the dossier in April to send to the Central New Rural Appraisal Council.
Besides, the delegation also worried about the fact that some aspects of the criteria are not really sustainable such as environmental landscape, wastewater treatment, solid waste and the locality needs to have specific solutions in implementing the project to build a model new rural area in the coming time.
Comrade Nguyen Minh Tien further emphasized: Nam Dan needs to enhance the value of cultural tourism. That is to improve the operational efficiency of grassroots cultural institutions; form a mechanism to attract investment, create highlights, and unique tourism products of Nam Dan. The district also focuses on developing clean agricultural production, associated with eco-tourism. Gradually build Nam Dan district into a model new rural district in the direction of "Developing culture associated with tourism".
Receiving the opinions of the delegation members, comrade Dinh Viet Hong - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee assigned the Provincial New Rural Coordination Office and related sectors to coordinate with Nam Dan district to supplement necessary information to complete the dossier, successfully defending the district to meet the New Rural standards before the Central New Rural Appraisal Council./.
