Nam Dan held a memorial service for King Mai's mother
Every year, on the 3rd of July of the lunar calendar, the cadres and people of Nam Dan district (Nghe An) solemnly hold a memorial service for King Mai's mother - the person who gave birth to and raised the cloth-clothed hero Mai Thuc Loan - who had the merit of driving out the Tang invaders, building the independent Van An country, and was honored by our people as "Mai Hac De".

The death anniversary of King Mai's mother was solemnly held according to traditional rituals at her mausoleum on top of Gie Mountain, in the old Ngoc Trung village, now Nam Thai commune, Nam Dan district, with the participation of leaders of the district Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, departments, branches, unions of Nam Dan district, Party Committee, government and a large number of people from all walks of life of Nam Thai commune.
Along with the activities during the King Mai Temple Festival on the full moon day of the first lunar month, the 1300th anniversary of her death this year is an opportunity for the cadres and people of Nam Dan to express their gratitude for her great merits, and at the same time review the glorious history of the Mai Thuc Loan uprising, the heroic sacrifice of King Mai and his righteous generals, thereby educating the tradition of patriotism and national pride for today's generations.
