A recently published US study found that men who skip breakfast have a higher risk of heart attack or fatal cardiovascular disease than those who eat breakfast.

Published in the journal Circulation on July 22, the study by the Harvard School of Public Health analyzed the daily eating habits and monitored health problems of nearly 27,000 men aged 45-82 between 1992 and 2008.

Research results confirm that the risk of heart attacks or death from cardiovascular diseases in men who regularly skip breakfast is up to 27% higher than those who eat a full breakfast.

Additionally, according to statistics, people who eat breakfast tend to eat one more meal a day on average than those who skip breakfast, which suggests that breakfast skippers often do not compensate for the lack of food.

Study author Leah Cahill said skipping breakfast can lead to a number of risk factors including obesity, high blood pressure, high cholesterol and diabetes, which can lead to heart attacks.

Ms. Cahill also recommends that although there is no clear research, women should also pay attention to this result.

According to research results, people who skip breakfast are often younger, less active, drink more alcohol, smoke, work all day and are unmarried./.
