On the afternoon of November 4, Colonel Tran Ngoc Hanh - Director of Can Tho City Police told VietNamNet that there was a case of a young man breaking into Eximbank, Can Tho branch, Hung Loi transaction office (221A, 3/2 street, Hung Loi ward, Ninh Kieu district, Can Tho city) intending to commit a robbery.
According to initial information, on the afternoon of November 3, Nguyen Van Linh (28 years old, residing in Truong Xuan A commune, Thoi Lai district, renting a house in Ninh Kieu district) wore a mask, gloves, and a jacket, rode a motorbike to the above bank, rushed in and used two bottles of gasoline to splash the security guard.
At this time, the security guard and the bank restrained the young man. Upon receiving the report, the police arrived and took Linh to the headquarters for questioning.
Initially, Linh confessed that he watched online and saw many bank robberies happening recently, so he learned and bought tools to rob a bank.
