Young man uses phone to livestream suicide by hanging
On January 17, Kon Tum General Hospital received and treated a man who had hanged himself, Mr. A (34 years old, residing in Dak Ruong commune, Kon Ray district), but came to do business in Dak Nen commune, Kon Plong district, Kon Tum province.
According to initial information, at around 10:00 p.m. on January 16, Mr. A set his phone to livestream mode directly on his personal Facebook page, with the screen facing A.
At that time, Mr. A was wearing a black jacket and blue jeans, hanging himself with a rope in the kitchen behind his family's grocery store in Dak Nen commune, Kon Plong district.
Facebook clearly showed the scene of A kicking over a chair, spinning around and struggling, causing hundreds of people to come and watch and comment. Coincidentally, the man's brother-in-law was also surfing Facebook, discovered the incident and called a neighbor near the scene to come to the rescue, cut the rope and take the victim to the emergency room.
Ms. N - the wife of victim A said that while she was visiting her children in Dak Ruong commune, her husband repeatedly texted her to curse her and then told her to stay with the children and let A take care of his business (in Dak Nen commune). Feeling something was wrong, Ms. N quickly took a taxi back to the shop. When she was almost there, the incident had already happened.
The Chairman of the Dak Nen Commune People's Committee confirmed that he had received information about the incident and was conducting an investigation. It is known that A and his wife had 3 children from 2 to 8 years old. According to Ms. N, the reason her husband committed suicide was because of a large gambling debt.
