Nam Thanh actively builds rural transportation
(Baonghean.vn) -Implementing the new rural development program, in 2012, Nam Thanh commune (Yen Thanh district) completed the land conversion, from 4-6 plots per household, now only 1-2 plots remain. From the beginning of 2013, Nam Thanh commune started a campaign to build rural traffic, with the motto "The State and the people work together".
The beginning of the local rural traffic construction campaign was the Lam Thanh parish. When the State supported cement, the people of Lam Thanh parish unanimously agreed to demolish some auxiliary structures to donate land for the locality to build roads. After a short time, all roads in the village had their sidewalks cleared to the correct width according to the new rural criteria. Accordingly, in early 2013, the Commune People's Committee directed the village to pour concrete on the main road in the village, with a length of 800 m, a concrete road surface of 3.5 m wide, and 20 cm thick. Everyone was excited to travel on the new, clean and beautiful road.
With the consent of the people, Nam Thanh commune proceeded to clear rural traffic through two hamlets: Loc Thanh and Vinh Thanh.
Continuing the movement of building roads, with the support of the people of two hamlets: Loc Thanh and Vinh Thanh, on March 28, Nam Thanh commune used machinery to clear the traffic corridor on the main road passing through the two hamlets with a length of 1.2 km. As the clearance progressed, the commune directed the hamlets to dump the roadbed soil and rocks to prepare for pouring concrete. The commune's plan is to pour concrete on this road section in early April.
Mr. Phan The Trung - Chairman of the Commune People's Committee, said: Nam Thanh has 12 km of rural roads, including 3 km of intra-field roads and 9 km of inter-hamlet roads. In the past, the commune has done a good job of propaganda and mobilizing people to donate land for road construction, which has been well received by the people. The motto of the commune is to pour concrete wherever land is cleared, so the commune's plan in 2013 will be to pour concrete for 7 km, striving to complete the criteria for new rural traffic before 2015. To make rural traffic highly effective, in addition to the state's cement support policy, the Commune People's Council has agreed on the investment level for 1 km of concrete pouring: the commune invests 400 million VND, the people contribute 400 million VND.
Nam Thanh is a pilot locality in the construction of new rural areas in Yen Thanh district, so in recent times, the commune has actively promoted the program to all classes of people, and has been implementing a number of criteria. By 2015, Nam Thanh strives to complete 19 criteria for new rural construction.
