(Baonghean) -In the last months of 2012, at Doc Chuoi, Bu Chong Cha peak in the border area between Chau Kim commune and Chau Thon commune (Que Phong), there were many cases of robbery, beating, slashing people causing injuries, forced robbery of money and property of passersby, causing confusion, agitation and fear among the people.

Mr. Lang Van Dung, 32 years old, an agricultural and forestry extension officer of Quang Phong commune, head of the loan group for farmers in Chieng village, Quang Phong commune, who was robbed, said: “At dusk, I went up Doc Chuoi, almost at the end of the slope, I saw 2 people stopping my car, holding a stick and pointing at me and shouting “stop, bring out the money”. While I was hesitating to think of a way, I was hit in the back with a stick, I had no choice but to follow their orders, took off my pants and threw them to them, in my pocket was 17,500,000 VND. They picked my pocket and took the money, I immediately ran downstairs to call for help… Suddenly remembering that there was a phone in my T-shirt pocket, I called my family, the commune police and the district police, nearly an hour later my family and the police arrived at the scene, made a report, until now there is still no information about the incident”.

On October 2, 2012 (lunar calendar), another incident occurred, also at Chuoi slope. The victim was Mr. Vi Van Than, born in 1973, a farmer in Chieng village, Quang Phong commune, Que Phong. Mr. Than said: “I got there at dusk, suddenly 4 people appeared on the side of the road, jumped down to stop my car and demanded money. I said I didn’t have any. They took out my wallet and found 150 thousand dong, they threw both the money and the wallet and one of them hit me on the shoulder from behind, I bent down and raised my hand to block, they used a knife to slash my left arm. At that moment, 2 people on a motorbike came at the same time as a car (from Chau Thon). Seeing that, they ran away. I still remember that the group of robbers had 1 person wearing a black shirt, 1 person with short hair with a long tuft in the middle and dyed it red. The person who used the knife to slash my arm was wearing a mahogany shirt and shorts.”

At the end of December 2012, Mr. Vi Van Phong and Mr. Luong Van Pa, both doctors working at Que Phong District General Hospital, went home (in Ban Mong, Cam Muon) for the weekend and encountered a group of five robbers. Mr. Phong said: “When they lined up to block my car and Mr. Pa’s to the side of the road, I knew something was wrong. Mr. Pa and I resolutely swerved to pass and said we were on our way to rescue a patient. Seeing our tough attitude, they did not chase us.”

Through many reports and meeting many victims, they confirmed: If the authorities get involved and regularly monitor, it can be investigated. Some of the subjects are people from Quang Phong and Cam Muon areas, they often stay in Kim Son Town and go back and forth to the gas station area (gas station) Chau Kim to monitor and detect who has money, or see who comes out to sell gold or goods, they will use the phone to contact the top of Bu Chong Cha to let their accomplices know the person and the license plate number to "ask" for money. The robberies all happen on Chuoi slope from dusk until about 8 or 9 p.m.

In order for road users in general and people in the Southwest of Que Phong district in particular, especially during the Lunar New Year, to travel safely in terms of life and property, the authorities need to quickly take action to destroy the robbery gang at Bu Chong Cha peak.
