Be on high alert for Storm Than Set (Storm No. 3)
(Baonghean.vn) - According to forecasts, on the morning of August 19, storm No. 3 (storm Than Set) will continue to accelerate to 15-20km/h in a westerly direction and continue to strengthen before making landfall in the provinces from Quang Ninh to Nghe An with strong winds of level 10-11, gusting to level 13-14, then moving deep into the Northern Delta. In this situation, the Provincial People's Committee has deployed many solutions to be ready to respond.

According to the quick report No. 04/BC-PCLB dated August 18, 2016 of the Border Guard Command: Nghe An province currently has: 4,030 vehicles with 18,239 workers directly fishing seafood have entered shelters and anchored safely. The key point is that Quynh Luu district has the largest number of boats in the province with 1,275, currently all vehicles have returned to anchor at the two ports of Lach Quen and Lach Thoi. In Dien Chau district, 1,446 boats have returned to safe anchorage. In Hoang Mai town, the work of preventing storm No. 3 is being actively implemented by the locality, over 1,000 boats have safely docked at Lach Con port; all boats in Nghi Loc, Cua Lo town also took shelter from the storm. Because at this time, most fishermen are on their days off.
For mountainous districts, organize inspections and reviews in areas at high risk of flash floods, landslides, and inundation, and be ready to deploy response plans to ensure safety of people and property.

Currently, the Provincial People's Committee and the Provincial Steering Committee for Disaster Prevention and Control have inspected and directed coastal districts to evacuate people to safe shelters according to scenario 5: Level 13 storm combined with average high tides (the number of communes and people to be evacuated according to the scenario is 18 communes with 18,200 people).
At the current dam projects, the PCLB plan has been approved and implemented according to the approved plan; Ban Ve, Khe Bo, Chi Khe Hydropower Company, operates according to the inter-reservoir process on the Ca River basin according to Decision No. 1337/QD-TTg (dated August 11, 2014) of the Prime Minister.

The permanent rescue agencies: Military Command, Provincial Border Guard Command, have prepared forces and means, on duty 24/7 to perform rescue and relief tasks. The Provincial People's Committee also requested departments, branches, localities, and units to postpone all unnecessary meetings to focus on responding to natural disasters.
