Improving the quality of grade I general hospitals in the North Central region

(Baonghean.vn) – On the morning of May 19, the Party Committee of Nghe An General Hospital solemnly held the opening ceremony of the 26th Party Congress, term 2015 – 2020.

Attending the congress were representatives of Vinh City Party Committee, Nghe An Department of Health and 134 delegates representing 329 party members of 33 affiliated party cells.

The last term was a difficult term for the hospital, when the pressure on people's medical examination and treatment needs was increasing, the disease situation, weather and climate were complicated, many new epidemics appeared... However, determining that medical examination and treatment is the top political task, the Party Committee of Nghe An General Hospital focused on leading the unit to perform well the assigned tasks and achieved many positive results: the bed occupancy rate in recent years reached from 130.1% (2010) to 136.7% (2014), the total number of patients coming for examination, inpatient treatment and the total number of surgeries increased, the mortality rate decreased, many serious cases were saved.

Along with that, the hospital always has proactive prevention plans and prepares good resources: facilities, equipment, chemicals, and coordinates well with medical facilities in the whole industry, so in recent years, many epidemics have occurred nationwide such as AH5N1 flu, AH1N1 flu, AH7N9 but no epidemics have occurred in the area and no patients have died at the hospital.

During the past term, Nghe An General Hospital has purchased many essential and modern equipment to serve medical examination and treatment such as: 1.5 test line nuclear magnetic resonance imaging machine, 64-row CT scanner, multi-function emergency bed system, ventilator, ultrasound machine, endoscopic surgery system, monitor, electric syringe pump, transcranial Doppler machine, tympanometer, Lasik surgery machine, automatic blood culture machine, bacteria identification machine...

In addition, the hospital always pays attention to the facilities serving patients. During its tenure, it has renovated and expanded the Intensive Care - Anti-Poison Department, Neurology Department, Cardiology Department, Surgery Department, Obstetrics Department, renovated and put into operation the nutritional kitchen to meet the needs of patients.

In particular, in the last term, the Hospital completed and put into use a new hospital after more than 10 years of construction. The moving process ensured the safety of people and property, and there were no errors in emergency care, treatment, and patient care.

Comrade Ton That Hau - Party Committee member, Deputy Director of the Hospital presented the report on the verification of the qualifications of the delegates.

The Party Committee has paid attention to improving the leadership capacity and fighting strength of grassroots party organizations and party members, especially in detecting and fighting against bureaucracy, corruption, waste and negative manifestations in the unit. Along with that, directing the organization to be perfected, the party cells to be rearranged, so far the Party Committee has 33 subordinate party cells and 329 party members. In the last term, 145 outstanding people were admitted to the Party.

The congress focused on discussing and agreeing on goals and solutions to implement the plans set out for the 2015-2020 term, specifically building Nghe An General Hospital to be politically stable, develop expertise in a sustainable manner, worthy of being a Grade I general hospital in the North Central region, and a trusted address for people in the area and the region.

The Congress also listened to the summary report, received and explained the comments and suggestions before and during the Congress on the Political Report, the Review Report of the Party Committee of Nghe An General Hospital submitted to the 26th Congress. In addition, the Congress voted to approve the main goals and targets of the Congress. Approved the draft Resolution of the Congress. Accordingly, the plan is 1,000 hospital beds/year (2020), the total number of medical examinations reaches 300,000 patients/year, the total number of inpatients reaches 60,000 patients/year, the average treatment day is 6.5 days... At the same time, developing new, specialized, cutting-edge techniques: 1-2 babies were born from in vitro fertilization in 2016, implementing ECMO techniques in the Intensive Care - Anti-Poisoning Department. Regarding the work of improving the quality of human resources, 100% of hospital leaders have professional qualifications of PhD, BSCKII; senior political theory; state management; foreign language B2 of the European framework; 50% of department heads have professional qualifications of PhD, BSCKII... Regarding the work of Party building, the Party Committee is determined to maintain the title: "Clean and strong Party Committee" every year.
