(Baonghean.vn) - On October 24, in Quy Chau district, Nghe An Provincial People's Committee organized a workshop on "Improving the quality of education and training in ethnic minority and mountainous areas". Attending the workshop were comrade Dinh Thi Le Thanh - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Luong Quang Kinh - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Ethnic Minorities Committee; representatives of the Department of Education and Training, Department of Home Affairs, Department of Planning and Investment, Department of Finance, Provincial Border Guard Command, ethnic minority high schools in the area; district leaders and education sector of mountainous districts.

The workshop gathered 29 presentations revolving around the issue of solutions to improve the quality of education and training in ethnic minority and mountainous areas. The delegates reflected on the current situation of difficulties, shortages and inadequacies in teaching and improving the quality of education in mountainous and highland districts. From there, they put forward dedicated opinions and specific, practical solutions to improve the quality of education. That is to continue to pay attention to developing the network of schools and classes; innovate management and professional guidance; organize teaching and learning close to the target students; promote the work of universalizing and eliminating illiteracy; build a team of teachers and managers to meet the requirements of the tasks in the new period; strengthen the system of facilities serving teaching and learning; mobilize resources to create a comprehensive strength; perfect the department of directing education work in mountainous and ethnic areas...

Concluding the workshop, comrade Dinh Thi Le Thanh affirmed that improving the quality of education in mountainous and ethnic minority areas is always a concern of the Party Committee and the government. This responsibility belongs first and foremost to the education sector, which needs to pay attention to building a team of dedicated managers and teachers. District leaders need to raise awareness, not leave the education sector alone, and develop a plan to improve quality.
