Overview of the conference.

Implementing the Coordination Regulations, in 2013, the Provincial People's Council and the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee carried out many close and synchronized coordination activities in various aspects of work according to the functions and tasks of each side, contributing to improving the quality of work of each agency. Notably, the two sides strengthened coordination, contributing to consolidating, expanding, and strengthening the great national unity. They also coordinated in developing plans for voter outreach before and after each session of the Provincial People's Council, as well as compiling all feedback and recommendations from voters in the province and forwarding them to the Provincial People's Committee and relevant departments and levels for increasingly effective resolution. In particular, the two sides also coordinated in gathering public opinions on the draft amendments to the 1992 Constitution, ensuring quality. The monitoring and survey activities of the Standing Committee and the Committees of the Provincial People's Council increasingly focused on issues arising in social life through understanding the aspirations and concerns of the people, as well as the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee system. At the same time, the Provincial People's Council's monitoring and survey activities always include members from the Provincial Fatherland Front who participate and contribute many important opinions, reflecting the will and aspirations of the voters as well as accurately reflecting the practical realities.

At the conference, both sides also clarified some limitations in coordination work in order to overcome them and improve in 2014. These included strengthening coordination in disseminating information and mobilizing the people to implement the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's laws, and the resolutions issued by the Provincial People's Council, so that these resolutions have a real impact in practice. They also discussed continuing coordination to ensure innovation and improve the quality of voter outreach, supervision, and surveys conducted by the Provincial People's Council. Furthermore, they emphasized improving coordination in receiving citizens and resolving feedback and suggestions from voters, especially long-standing complaints and denunciations. They also stressed the importance of coordinating the process of conducting confidence votes for certain positions elected by the Provincial People's Council, and improving coordination in evaluating and assessing the performance of Provincial People's Council representatives.
