After 10 years of implementing Directive 42/-CT/TW, 2 publishing houses in the province, Nghe An Publishing House and Vinh University Publishing House, have published 1,285 books with over 5 million copies printed. In addition, some publications have developed quite stably and have large print quantities such as internal newsletters, party histories of sectors, localities, units and publications of press agencies... However, in implementing the publishing planning, the coordination between agencies inside and outside the publishing industry is still not tight and confusing; the quality of publications in some areas such as research topics, summarizing practices has not met requirements; the training and fostering of officials in the publishing, printing and distribution industry has not received due attention; most of the published publications have not reached remote areas; the organization of mobilizing and attracting resources to participate in publishing activities is still limited.
