In 2012, although some overseas labor markets were unfavorable, with great efforts, the whole province sent 13,707 workers to work abroad for a limited period, mainly in the markets of Malaysia (3,533 people), Taiwan (2,277 people), Korea (1,132 people), Middle Eastern countries (1,392 people)... The total number of workers in the province working abroad for a limited period was nearly 50,000 people; of which the number of workers exported under Decision 78/2009 of the Prime Minister in the three poor districts of Que Phong, Tuong Duong, and Ky Son was 267 people. The income from labor export transferred to the province through commercial banks in 2012 was about 110 million USD.
Comrade Le Xuan Dai requested the labor sector and localities to further strengthen propaganda work on labor export for the people.
Last year, local authorities at all levels proactively linked and coordinated with labor export units in removing obstacles, providing guidance on providing information on the labor market and recruiting workers, thereby increasing the quantity and quality of recruitment sources such as Do Luong district (sending 1,461 people), Dien Chau (1,205 people), Yen Thanh (1,075 people); Thanh Chuong (1,000 people), Anh Son (1,150), Nghia Dan (754 people) ... to work abroad.
The conference discussed and analyzed a number of shortcomings, such as: The results achieved from labor export are not commensurate with the potential and needs of workers in the area; Access to high-income markets is still limited; The number of workers from policy families and poor households with technical expertise recruited for export is still low; Some localities have not really paid attention and lacked close coordination with labor export recruitment units; The introduction of labor export supply sources from communes to labor export units has resulted in the situation of demanding high service fees; Some companies and units inside and outside the province with the function of labor export still violate regulations and do not properly fulfill the commitments signed with workers...
In 2013, Nghe An strives to send 10,000 - 11,000 workers to work abroad for a limited period of time; in which poor districts will have an average of 100 people/district; strengthen the connection between localities, vocational training facilities and units doing labor export work; continue to improve the quality of labor export resources to meet the requirements of partners, bringing the number of workers with technical expertise to work abroad to 43-45%; pay attention to foreign language training, fostering knowledge of contracts and laws in the field of labor export; effectively implement solutions to reduce the rate of expired workers, illegal residents in Korea...
Concluding the conference, comrade Le Xuan Dai, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, stated: The results achieved in labor export in 2012 have contributed significantly to the implementation of the province's target program of job creation and sustainable poverty reduction, creating stability in the socio-political situation in the area. He requested the Labor Department and localities to further strengthen propaganda work as well as vocational training to improve the quality of human resources, specifically foreign languages, vocational skills, awareness and working style; coordinate well with labor export enterprises and banks so that more and more people can work abroad for a limited period of time.
