Improve the efficiency of judicial appraisal activities

(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of October 14, under the chairmanship of comrade Thai Van Hang - Member of the Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, the Steering Committee for the implementation of the Project "Innovation and improvement of the effectiveness of judicial appraisal activities" held a meeting to evaluate the results of work in 2014.

Overview of the conference

In general, in 2014, the implementation of the Law on Judicial Expertise and related documents continued to be promptly deployed by the Steering Committee, so the judicial expertise work in the area gradually became routine. From the beginning of the year to the end of August 2014, the units received and appraised nearly 2,000 cases. The judicial appraisal results of judicial appraisal organizations in various fields met the requirements of the prosecution agencies to serve the investigation, prosecution, and trial of cases (mainly criminal cases). The appraisal implementation ensured the objective and accurate factors, basically ensured the time, and did not cause any complaints or denunciations related to the appraisal work. The coordination between appraisal organizations and appraisers with the prosecution agencies, especially with the investigation agencies of the provincial and district police, was relatively synchronous.

Based on the assessment of performance results, pointing out limitations and shortcomings, the Steering Committee has proposed a number of tasks in the coming time. In particular, it will regularly update relevant legal documents to review, compile statistics, and evaluate the capacity and ability to meet the appraisal requirements of individuals and existing judicial appraisal organizations, and request the Provincial People's Committee to improve the team of judicial appraisers in various fields. Focus on assessing the current status of facilities and means serving judicial appraisal activities to develop investment plans, operating costs, and equip facilities and means serving expertise in the field of judicial appraisal...

Concluding the conference, comrade Thai Van Hang highly appreciated the results of judicial appraisal activities in the province in recent times, on that basis requested the Steering Committee to continue to strengthen inspection and examination of judicial appraisal activities in all fields; promptly detect shortcomings in judicial appraisal activities and have solutions to overcome them. Regarding the proposals of agencies and units related to funding, the Vice Chairman requested the Department of Finance to advise the Provincial People's Committee to arrange funding in a timely manner to meet the requirements of judicial appraisal consultation work better and better.
