In Nghe An province, there are currently two legal religions: Catholicism and Buddhism, in addition to a number of other religious followers. Of which, Catholicism has about 26,000 followers, 121 dignitaries; Buddhism has more than 40,000 followers, 30 monks, nuns and priests.
In general, in the first 6 months of the year, the state management of religion in the area has been effectively strengthened. Some departments and localities have organized training courses on religious work for civil servants working in religious and related fields; increased meetings, mobilization, and propaganda for religious dignitaries to clearly and correctly understand the Party and State's policies and guidelines on freedom of religious belief, and on resolving issues related to the East Sea, etc.
All levels, sectors and localities also regularly pay attention to and encourage religious organizations, key members and policy families on the occasion of the beginning of the year of the Horse and important religious holidays. Legitimate and basic religious needs are promptly resolved, needs that do not have sufficient legal and practical basis are explained, guided and answered specifically; resolutely fight against cases and religious activities that violate the law...
In the last six months of the year, all levels and sectors will strengthen the dissemination of legal policies on religion to cadres, people, dignitaries and religious followers; focus on resolving the legitimate and legal religious needs of religions in accordance with the law; improve the responsibility, capacity, methods and experience of the team of specialized cadres doing religious work, and improve the effectiveness of state management of religious work.
