Improving knowledge and laws to protect sea and island sovereignty for fishermen
(Baonghean.vn) -On the morning of April 15, in An Hoa commune (Quynh Luu), Nghe An Provincial People's Committee, Steering Committee, East Sea, Islands organized a training conference to improve knowledge, laws, protect sovereignty of seas and islands and exploit aquatic products.

Attending the training were representatives of a number of provincial departments, district leaders, relevant departments and mass organizations of Quynh Luu district, Quynh Thuan Border Guard Station, chairmen of fishing associations of communes in the district and representatives of 300 owners of offshore fishing vessels with engine capacity of 150 CV or more from communes with fishing vessels in Quynh Luu district.
The training content includes: Viewpoints and policies of our Party and State on sovereignty over seas and islands and resolving disputes in the East Sea; documents of the Prime Minister in 2013, regulations on administrative sanctions for violations in the field of exploitation and protection of aquatic resources. Management of registration and inspection of means; issues of building cooperative groups for exploitation at sea and policies for ships and fishermen operating offshore, provision of communication systems of the Vietnam Coastal Information Station, the importance of communication equipment for fishermen at sea...
This is a training course to improve knowledge of law and awareness of sea and island sovereignty in the new situation for fishermen, owners of fishing vessels at sea and officers working in propaganda to protect sea and island sovereignty. Training duration is 1 day.
