Raising legal awareness of national territory and borders
(Baonghean.vn) -This morning, October 2, the Provincial People's Committee and the National Border Committee - Ministry of Foreign Affairs jointly organized a training conference on "Raising legal awareness on national territory and borders".
Attending the event were comrades: Nguyen Duy Chien - Deputy Head of the National Border Committee; Le Xuan Dai - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; leaders of the Border Guard Command, Department of Foreign Affairs, 140 leaders of provincial departments, branches, 10 districts, towns and 59 border and coastal communes and wards and border posts in the province.

The conference is an activity within the framework of the LASRAI III project implemented by the National Border Commission and the Australian Department of Immigration and Citizenship to provide information on international and Vietnamese legal regulations related to border and territorial management and protection.

At this conference, the reporters introduced the meaning and basic content of the Vietnam Sea Law, which was recently passed by the National Assembly on June 22, 2012. This is a basic legal document on the sea and islands of our country. The Vietnam Sea Law has clearly defined the scope and legal status of Vietnam's internal waters, territorial waters, exclusive economic zones and continental shelf, in accordance with international law. In addition, the reporters also introduced and reported on legal regulations related to border and territorial affairs; the work of increasing and upgrading the Vietnam - Laos border marker system; migration issues, border management, protection and sea management of Nghe An province.
