Enhancing the role of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and its member organizations in the fight against corruption
(Baonghean) -This morning, November 15, the Office of the Steering Committee for Anti-Corruption of Nghe An province coordinated with the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee to organize a conference to discuss solutions to promote the role of the Fatherland Front and its member organizations in the fight against corruption.
According to Resolution 3 of the 10th Central Committee and the Law on Anti-Corruption (PCTN), the Fatherland Front at all levels and organizations play an important role as supervisory and critical agencies in the fight against corruption. In fact, after 5 years of implementing the PCTN Law, the Fatherland Front and organizations in general have made significant contributions to the fight against corruption when the majority of cases discovered were provided by the masses (members of organizations), citizens and press agencies.
However, to further promote the role and contribution of these organizations and agencies, there must be solutions for coordination and strict and timely handling from the competent authorities. More than 11 comments, including 22 proposals from representatives of departments and organizations such as the Fatherland Front, the People's Mobilization Committee, the Inspection Committee, the Judiciary, the Provincial Youth Union, the Farmers' Association, and Veterans' Associations, etc., raised the difficulties and obstacles when participating in the fight against corruption. The comments said: The spirit and sense of responsibility of members of the Fatherland Front and press agencies in preventing corruption are very positive, but there are still difficulties due to not being provided with complete information; the reward mechanism for providing anti-corruption information is not in accordance with the Government's regulations; the protection of whistleblowers is not good. Besides, when the Fatherland Front, unions and press agencies receive denunciations of corruption, they often forward them to the authorities, but there are no strict regulations on reporting and responding.
Concluding the conference, Comrade Nguyen Hong Nhi - Chairman of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee acknowledged the achievements in the fight against corruption; at the same time, emphasized: To effectively participate in the fight against corruption, the Fatherland Front and organizations must be exemplary and manage their fields well. The fight against corruption, if it is to be effective, must rely on the people, strengthen the role of the People's Inspectorate and the Community Investment Supervision Board; must pass the regulations on coordination in the fight against corruption between the Fatherland Front, organizations and the Provincial Steering Committee Office. In addition, continue to perfect the regulations and coordination regulations on anti-corruption; promptly commend, reward and protect those who report corruption; issue regulations on rewarding press works on anti-corruption topics; link anti-corruption with the results of studying and following the moral example of Ho Chi Minh...
