(Baonghean.vn) -On the afternoon of January 9, the Provincial Steering Committee of the campaign "Vietnamese people prioritize using Vietnamese goods" held a review of activities in 2013 and deployed tasks for 2014.

Assessing the implementation situation, the Steering Committee emphasized that the campaign has had many positive changes, bringing about encouraging results; creating changes in awareness and behavior in consumer culture. At the same time, businesses also have the opportunity to promote their brands, grasp consumer tastes to build business strategies suitable for each regional market, creating conditions for business development.

To promote propaganda work, in 2013, mass media agencies published hundreds of articles promoting the campaign with rich and diverse content. The Department of Industry and Trade received and monitored 4,620 promotional programs with a total prize value equivalent to over 21.5 billion VND; confirmed 28 lucky promotional programs with a total prize value of up to 4.3 billion VND. Organized 19 "Vietnamese goods to the countryside" and "Vietnamese goods to the mountains" campaigns with a financial support source for participating businesses of 670 million VND; total revenue estimated at about 20.5 billion VND...

In addition, the Department also directed the Market Management Department to strengthen market inspection and control, detect fake goods, poor quality goods, and goods of unknown origin; resolutely handle acts of commercial fraud, and create favorable conditions for people to access domestically produced goods of good quality and reasonable prices.

The report of the Steering Committee of the campaign also pointed out some shortcomings in the implementation process such as some localities and units have not yet determined the importance of the campaign, so the propaganda and campaign work is not specific and practical. The mentality of favoritism is still quite common among consumers; the competitiveness of Nghe An enterprises' products is still weak, difficult to compete with foreign goods. Some enterprises take advantage of promotions to consume poor quality goods and commit commercial fraud. The inspection, urging and coordination work between members of the Steering Committee is not close, and the entire political system has not been mobilized to participate; some members of the Steering Committee are slow in updating information and reporting results; many units do not have reports on the results of implementing the campaign...

In 2014, the Steering Committee continued to focus on the following contents: Promoting and diversifying forms of propaganda to all classes of people; mobilizing enterprises and manufacturers to innovate technology, innovate management, improve product quality, and prices suitable for consumers. Strengthening coordination with the Party Committee of Enterprises, the Association of Small and Medium Enterprises to implement the campaign. Organizing fairs, exhibitions, and programs to bring Vietnamese goods to rural areas so that consumers can have more access to Vietnamese branded goods...
