(Baonghean) -This is the 5th year that Regiment 335 (Division 324, Military Region 4) has organized a ceremony to present awards from the “Encouraging Learning and Talent” Fund to children of officers and professional soldiers (QNCN) currently working at the unit, with high academic achievements. The good news is that the number of excellent students and those admitted to colleges and universities has increased each school year, clearly demonstrating the effectiveness of a correct and creative approach.
The handshakes of congratulations and the cheerful laughter of the students and their parents clearly showed their joy and pride in the results achieved in the past school year. That was our feeling when attending the awarding ceremony of the “Encouraging Learning and Encouraging Talents” Fund of Regiment 335 (Division 324, Military Region 4). In the 2011-2012 school year, 71 students from primary to high school received awards.
Lieutenant Colonel Pham Van Dong - Political Commissar of the Regiment confided: Regiment 335 is a main unit, the training and combat readiness tasks are increasingly demanding and close to the actual combat situation. Due to the specific nature of the work, the team of officers and soldiers have very little time to take care of their families, wives and children, especially helping their children in their studies. In order to promptly encourage officers and soldiers to work with peace of mind, in 2008, the leaders and commanders of the Regiment established the "Encouraging Learning and Encouraging Talents" Fund with enthusiastic response in both spirit and material from the team of officers and soldiers of the entire unit.

For Hoang Thi Hoai Thuong, an 11th grader, daughter of Major Hoang Van Long, a driver of Company 25, this is the fifth time she has received the regiment's "Encouraging Learning and Encouraging Talents" Fund. Last school year, Hoai Thuong won third prize in Mathematics in the excellent student competition. Hoai Thuong shared: "Although my father works far away from home and only comes home occasionally, he doesn't have much time to teach me, but the rewards from the unit have helped me try harder in my studies."
Nguyen Huy An, 7 years old, son of Major Nguyen Huy Hoang - Propaganda Assistant of the Regiment, is a student of class 1A, Nghi Phu Primary School (Vinh City), last school year he was an excellent student. Besides, An is also the class monitor, maintaining and managing all activities of the class, but when going to the unit to meet his brothers and sisters, An is still shy, always clinging to his father and mother. Ms. Tran Thi Lien shared a memory about her son: "When he was little, every day, before going to bed, An often asked: Where is dad, mom? Why hasn't dad come home for so long? Now that he's grown up, knowing that dad Hoang is a soldier, working far from home, it's very hard, so every day An studies hard and is obedient so that dad can work with peace of mind".
Ms. Nguyen Thi Net, wife of Captain Tran Quoc Luong - Political Commissar of Battalion 4, on behalf of the sisters, brought her child to receive the award. While speaking, she could not hold back her emotions: "I am very honored and proud of the attention of the officers and soldiers of Regiment 335. This is the motivation and source of encouragement for us sisters to always be a solid rear, raise our children, teach them to be good and study well so that the brothers can work with peace of mind and excellently complete all tasks assigned by the Party and the State."
Through research, it is known that in order for the "Encouraging Learning and Talent" Fund to operate effectively, Regiment 335 has established a strict operating regulation, such as: passing college and university entrance exams, the reward is 500,000 VND, achieving excellent students of the district is 250,000 VND, advanced students is 150,000 VND,... Although each gift is not much in terms of material, it contains a lot of affection from the officers and soldiers of Regiment 335, contributing to encouraging and motivating the children to strive to excel in their studies when their fathers are away from home.
In addition to taking care of the education of children of officers and soldiers in the unit, over the years, Regiment 335 has also actively participated in educational work in the area where it is stationed, such as: Every year supporting the "Encouraging Learning and Encouraging Talents" Fund of Anh Son district with over 10 million VND and sending officers and soldiers to participate in thousands of working days of repairing schools in the communes of Tuong Son, Hoa Son, Hoi Son, etc.
