Hot weather, electricity output in Nghe An far exceeds 2017 peak
(Baonghean.vn) - Nghe An Electricity Company said that the severe heat wave occurring over a large area has led to a spike in electricity consumption, with the system's peak capacity even surpassing the highest peak of 2017.
Specifically, on June 29, 2018, the system peak capacity reached 528MW; on July 2, 2018, the system peak capacity reached 579.3MW (including 110kV dedicated customers).

According to the forecast of the North Central Hydrometeorological Station, the peak of the 2018 hot season will continue. The highest temperature in 2018 in localities will reach 39 - 40 degrees Celsius, with some places such as Tuong Duong experiencing heat waves of 42 degrees Celsius. This leads to a sudden increase in electricity demand, mainly due to the use of air conditioners and cooling equipment, leading to the risk of overloading and overloading the local power grid in some areas, causing unsafe and unstable operation of the power system.
With the current hot weather, Nghe An Electricity Company continues to recommend that agencies, offices and people thoroughly use electricity economically and effectively, especially when the hot weather lasts for a long time.
Mr. Nguyen Van Binh - Head of Dispatch Department, Nghe An Electricity Company said: During the hot days, the company has focused on arranging additional staff on duty 24/7 to ensure the best electricity service for people's daily life as well as production.
During hot days, the company has stopped all power outages for planned repairs on the province's power grid (except for incidents) to ensure electricity for people's daily life.
