Exciting boat racing festival on Lam River

(Baonghean.vn) - As the highlight of the Thanh Liet Temple Festival in 2019, the boat racing festival taking place on Lam River attracts a large number of locals and tourists from all over.

Participating in the boat racing festival of Thanh Liet Temple this year are 4 teams from 3 communes: Hung Long, Hung Loi and Hung Lam. Before the competition took place, the teams actively practiced on the river.

During the festival, along with the tug of war game, the boat racing festival attracted a large number of spectators. The starting and finishing points of the teams were Hung Lam bridge.

The green race track for the teams is the Lam River branch in front of Thanh Liet Temple with a round trip length of 1,500 m.

According to the rules, each team uses a wooden dragon boat. Each boat has 16 people, including 2 rowers and 14 male and female "swimmers". After the starting signal, the racers compete, rowing towards the finish line amidst the cheers of the people standing on both banks. In the boat racing festival, winning or losing depends largely on the health of the athletes, rowing technique and coordination.

People stood on Hung Lam bridge and both sides of the river to cheer for the racing teams, creating a vibrant atmosphere.

Many elderly people also eagerly went to Lam River to cheer on the boat racing festival.

After many exciting races, with outstanding health and technique, the boat racing team of Hung Long commune won first prize, Hung Loi commune won second prize, and the teams of Hung Lam commune won third prize.
