Exciting Long Thai communal house festival

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of March 3, January 13, the Party Committee and people of Thai Son commune (Do Luong district) organized the Long Thai communal house festival.

Long Thai Communal House is a provincial historical relic. Legend has it that in the early 16th century, while fleeing from war, Mrs. Bui Thi Ngoc Thuy came here and gave birth to King Le Trang Tong. During his 16 years as king, he had great merit in defeating foreign invaders and bringing a prosperous life to the people.

To commemorate his merits, the people of Long Thai village built a communal house as a place of worship. Every year, on the 12th and 13th of January, people hold a ceremony and many activities such as: art performances, cockfighting, and volleyball competitions.

Long Thai Communal House has Nguyen Dynasty architecture. The frame of the communal house is a massive wooden sculpture with unique motifs and patterns. Although it was built hundreds of years ago, it still retains its original appearance. Long Thai Communal House is also a place for meetings, discussing national affairs, longevity celebrations, and banquets for the elderly.

Long Thai communal house festival is an annual activity to promote spiritual beauty and preserve historical traditions of the homeland and nation.
