NATO prepares for "Waterspray" exercise in Eastern Europe
The Tornado exercise, which will involve US paratroopers, will take place in Estonia, the Estonian Defense Forces General Command announced on April 20.

The “Water Cannon” exercise will be the final exercise before the “super” Siil 2015 exercise – the largest exercise in Estonian history. The Siil 2015 exercise will be held from May 4 to May 15 with the participation of nearly 13,000 US and Estonian soldiers.
"On April 20, nearly 2,000 soldiers of the First Infantry Brigade of the Estonian Defense Forces, together with US airborne divisions, will begin the five-day Water Cannon exercise, in preparation for Siil 2015," the statement said.
The presence of US troops in the Baltic Sea region is part of the military operation “Atlantic Resolve”. This is a US commitment, through international training programs and security cooperation, to NATO members in the Eastern European region.
NATO has increased its military presence along Russia's western border amid the tense conflict in southeastern Ukraine.
Moscow has repeatedly stressed that NATO's expansion towards Russia's borders will add to existing tensions and could harm regional security.
