After hundreds of years of settlement and development, generations of the Luu family have forged many glorious traditions. According to the "Liu family genealogy", the Luu family in Thanh Tuong originated from Van Con, Ha Khe, Hung Nguyen district; since the year Canh Ty (1719) when the ancestor Luu Van Ton came to Dinh Chu village to start a business, it has been nearly 300 years, through 11 generations, with 925 households. The main temple of the Luu family was built during the time of the founder, and was upgraded and built during the reign of King Thanh Thai. After many renovations, the ancient architecture (including the main hall, the worship hall, the left and right wings) has been preserved; inside there are many large inscriptions, parallel sentences, and ancient sacrificial objects (incense tables, incense burners, inlays, plaques, swords, knives, etc.) During the resistance war, the Luu family temple was the workplace of the Resistance Committee, the administration of Dai Dong commune; a place to store and hide weapons, medicine, and station troops.

The person who laid the foundation for the family's tradition of studiousness was Mr. Luu Si Chuong (1884 - 1930), who was famous for his intelligence since childhood. He passed the bachelor's exam in 1915 and was appointed by the Hue court as the third-class Inspector of the Ho Thanh Imperial Academy. After his death, he was posthumously awarded the title of Han Lam Vien Kien Thao by the feudal state. Today, continuing to promote the tradition of the old man "Tien nhan phuc am tuy u hau - Thanh dai khoa do tien tu kim", the descendants of the Luu family still study hard and achieve success. Currently, the family has 10 masters, hundreds of people with university degrees, 1 excellent teacher, 1 excellent artist and many people are senior officials in the armed forces. Since 2000, they have established a scholarship committee and built a scholarship fund. Every year, on the ancestor's day (January 18), they organize a ceremony to present awards to students who passed university and college entrance exams and excellent students at all levels.

The descendants of the Liu family, whether they have settled in their hometown or gone to work and make a living far away, have always lived in solidarity, harmony, love and support each other, and wholeheartedly turned to their homeland. During the years of economic difficulties, they built a fund to support over 2 tons of rice to help families in the family with especially difficult circumstances. Today, that spirit of mutual love and support has been and is being promoted by their descendants in many different forms. They pay attention to and organize the filial and happy events (longevity celebrations, weddings) in the family. Families with sick, ill, or unfortunate members are promptly visited. Weddings and funerals are all carried out according to cultural lifestyles.

In particular, the descendants of the Luu family actively participated in and responded to revolutionary movements. In the family, there were 3 party members active in the period of 1930 - 1931, 1 pre-uprising cadre, 3 Vietnamese Heroic Mothers (Tran Thi The, Nguyen Thi Dong, Nguyen Thi Buong). After two resistance wars against France and the US, hundreds of children in the family joined the army to fight the enemy, 17 martyrs heroically sacrificed for the cause of protecting the Fatherland, performing international duties in Laos and Cambodia, many of them were wounded and sick soldiers. The activity of "Repaying gratitude" was maintained. The old inscription in the Luu family's ancestral temple, with 4 words "Am - Ha - Tu - Nguyen", is like a reminder for descendants to always uphold the tradition of "When drinking water, remember its source". Since 1987, they have established a golden plaque to record the names of martyrs in the family to worship and show gratitude at the ancestral temple with the spirit of "The nation honors the merits, the great Liu clan remembers". In 1993, after renovating the ancestral mausoleum, they built a memorial stele to record the names of 17 Liu martyrs right in the ancestral tomb. Since then, every year on July 27, the Liu clan has carefully organized a ceremony to honor martyrs; visited and encouraged the families of wounded soldiers and martyrs in the clan. Showing gratitude has become a typical traditional beauty of the Liu clan over the past decades.
