New York: A plane skidded off the runway due to a snowstorm

Delta Flight 1086 was carrying 250 passengers and 5 crew members from Atlanta to LaGuardia Airport, New York. After the accident, passengers were quickly removed from the plane and taken to the airport by bus.

Bad weather is believed to have been the cause of the crash. The crash forced all runways to close and some flights to be diverted to other airports in New York.

A spokesman for the New York and New Jersey Transit Authority said LaGuardia Airport would remain closed “until the incident is over.” Earlier in the morning, bad weather also caused three New York airports to cancel hundreds of flights.
