Russia arrests IS supporters planning to kill security officials

It is known that within the framework of the case initiated under the article "Support of terrorist activities", the FSB and the Ministry of Internal Affairs stopped the activities of members of the terrorist cell who are natives of one of the Central Asian republics, they are also being investigated for involvement in financing the "Islamic State"*, recruiting Russian citizens into terrorist structures.

"According to operational information, these people planned to kill military and law enforcement officers of the Russian Federation, after which they intended to travel to the territory of the Middle East to participate in an international terrorist operation. At their place of residence, communication devices and bank cards used in criminal activities were seized," the statement said.

The news stressed that operational search measures and investigation activities are continuing.
